Just found out through O Sim BR that Spore.com is closing down very soon. I visited the (European) Spore sites and all of them have the same message. I have a bit of hope that they are only closing down the European sites and keeping up the US one. But I'm afraid it's all of them.
Spore Website To Be Shutdown
On August 1st, this version of the Spore.com site will be retired.
The game's functionality will still continue to work without issue. Players can continue to use the Sporepedia and all of the online features of the game.

Give me a moment while I mourn this loss. I loved the Spore website and have actually been a Sporemaster in the past. I guess it's time to download my creatures and buildings from the website, in case I don't have them on my computer anymore.

The official Sims pages on Facebook have uploaded several images from Into the Future and Movie Stuff, and I did receive a package with assets from EA but it didn't contain these renders. So they aren't transparent, but still very nice.
